大

Has had hanahaki since he was 12.
Came back to his grandma with a box of caramel and immediately started vomiting flowers so severely it hurt his stomach and he passed out.
Is having to take medicine for it while he’s on Ooejima because Daiba Shizuma, of course, has a wife that he loves very much, so he wouldn’t have hanahaki.
大 crying and begging 有 to be honest with him and vomiting out a huge red clot of flowers the medicine had been holding down.

有: I always knew they would be this beautiful. Why were you hiding them for so long?
- 有 giving the tiniest cutest laugh 大 has ever heard in his life.
  
  有: Oosaki-san is finally being honest with me too.
- Holding them like a bouquet.
  - They’re the most beautiful thing he’s ever seen. It’s only natural when they come from 大.

有

有 has had hanahaki since he was 15 and has mastered the delicate coughing up petals.
- 大 is so worried about him.
  - Clearly he’s so heartbroken about his dead wife.
A variety of lilies.
- 大 thinks they suit him (beautiful and funeral flowers.)
- 新 just recognises him as poisonous to cats.

新

Ivy hanahaki that is gripping his organs.
Has only developed in the past few months.
He doesn’t even know who it’s for!! He doesn’t like anyone!! He hates everyone’s ass!!
Always thought he was better than 盟 because he didn’t have it, and now.
Throwing up and shouting at 大 to not fucking look at him.

盟

Had ivy hanahaki since he was little.
盟 would try to spit the leaves into 新’s mouth and forcefeed them to him.
- Terrible for 新’s germophobia.
- Would hold his hand over 新’s mouth until he either swallowed or passed out.

青

Almost pure thorns with only a few buds.
Tends to avoid talking because it hurts so much.

汐

His hanahaki only manifests at night.
It’s all wildflowers from the mountain where sensei died.
It kind of scares him because he didn’t think he felt that way about sensei, but they hurt so much and he’s just not sure anymore.
His hanahaki pulls up chunks of organs with them - he’s not currently having any symptoms of serious damage, but there’s no knowing how long that will stay the case.

竹

Has had countless cases and countless varieties and no one takes it particularly seriously when he has it.
Will try to incorporate them into his shows.
市場前 asking him to cough up a flower to give “静” a flower for “清” and Sahei.
- Complains that it’s the wrong type of flower (LIKE HE CAN CONTROL THAT!)
- 大 holding this spit soaked flower.
汐 is fascinated by 竹’s because he’s the only other person he’s met who’s in any way similar to him.

日 developing hanahaki while living with 大 and being like of course this is for 大. 大 is kind and loving and wonderful.
Then he starts suffocating while trying to kill 清.
清 saves him.
- He’s used to dealing with intense hanahaki attacks so is able to act fast.

清

清 who developed hanahaki when he first met 静 as kids.
He’s had it his entire life, unable to let go of his feelings.
静 always teased him about his hanahaki symptoms
- 清 developed them the second they met, so he never know 清 without them.
- Seemingly never realised who they were for.
  - Also never asked.
清 would give 静 the flowers without explanation and they’d laugh about it.
静 seeing a flower in 清’s mouth and picking it for him.
- 静 called it gross but he laughed, so 清 didn’t take it personally.
- He desperately wanted him to do it again.
It absolutely tortures him when 静 is fucking around and causing trouble for everyone.
Even though he knows he should hate 静 and should be over these stupid feelings, he’s still coughing up flowers.
静 developing hanahaki at one point and 清 getting ahead of himself thinking this is finally the moment where their feelings are mutual.
- Then 静 introduces his new girlfriend (future wife) and he’s cured.
  - 清 has a coughing fit.
清 getting married and hoping that it would cure him because he does genuinely love his wife so much - but it just continues.
- 静 covers for him, but it just gives him false hope.
- 静 will say it’s his allergies while 清 is vomiting
When 静 died, he thought he’d be cured, but he still had the feelings, so it kept going.
- It started to get worse.
清 smoking 静’s cigarettes and lying to 大, claiming they’re what make him cough.
He’s had hanahaki so long, he grew up without his respiratory system having to control its - they’ve had the support of the hanahaki to keep him breathing so long, they might not be able to work independently of it.

Doomed 大/清

大 and 清 dating and even though 大 knows 清 is still hung up on 静 but he’s been trying so hard to win him over and make it work, 清 feels geuninely bad that he isn’t free of this.
So he’ll just pretend he’s cured and make excuses.
