竹 stumbled into joining the yakuza similar to Kyouji - he was working part time (and a gigolo to get places to stay) and just kinda got dragged in cause they liked him enough.
He’s not a great singer by any means and is at serious risk of getting tattooed and he’s terrified of what the boss would tattoo on him.
He hasn’t even got any tattoos, he’s really been flubbing this whole yakuza business.
He’s got no money either (somehow) so he’s not even able to pay for real singing lessons.
Hears 汐 singing in choir competition and this is the best idea he’s got.
汐 agrees pretty easily and goes with him.
The second 竹 starts fucking up the song, 汐 is clutching his ears and bites him.
竹 is suddenly very sure he picked the wrong kid to teach him.
Bad news. 汐 has decided he’s going to fix him.

竹 is just as pedantic about his songs as Kyouji is - he has 1 song and he’s Going to sing it.
竹 takes him home and Tsukishima-sensei is very polite but the second the door closes it’s “汐, who is that man?”
Tsukishima-sensei telling 汐 not to meet with him again. 汐 knows fine well how dangerous the yakuza are, and just because that one seems silly doesn’t mean he should underestimate them.
汐 listens to Tsukishima-sensei and tries to call it off with 竹 the next day.
竹 meanwhile went back and found out that the current sucky-song champion he was riding on being worse than him has a real singing teacher now and 竹 needs to gamble on 汐 saving him fr.
He’s absolutely begging 汐. He’s at his school ready to take him back to the karaoke place.
汐 is trying to turn him down but he’s not attacking him so his heart clearly isn’t in the rejection.
- Honestly, it just seems so fun…
