竹 Route except I’m a bastard and it’s 大有 and 汐竹 end game.
大 and 竹 are together for a bit - there’s little reason for them to fight and they always get along.
Their relationship just starts to stagnate after a point. They keep talking about possibly moving in together or something, but neither of them really want to and it’s more of an obligation suggestion.
After Shigeko gets adopted, 竹 kind of breaksdown and admits that he really can’t keep this relationship going.
- They clash heads a bit because 大 - having felt like a burden to the adults in his life - feels her getting adopted by someone else is for the best, and it hurts 竹 hearing someone think his life could ever be better without his beloved daughter.
They stay friends (with benefits) and 大 still supports him through, but can accept their feelings weren’t really going beyond this point.
竹 is delighted to hear 大 and 有 got together. He genuinely thinks they’re a cute couple and he can tell how much 大 likes him.
It took a lot to reconcile things with 有 and get him to accept 大 really will love the ugly parts of him.
竹 tries to give 大 dating tips all the time.

竹: Did you know that if you go to restaurants 15 minutes before closing they’ll let you have all the leftover food for dirt cheap?

大: …I don’t know if Ariake-san would like that.

竹: I did it all the time with A-ko!

大: Aren’t you single?

竹: That’s nothing to do with this.

大: Did you ever get sick?

竹: I’M TRYING TO HELP.

汐 would love doing this (guy who doesn’t get sick)
竹 is the first (after 新木場 and 品) to know 大 and 有 are getting married.
竹 keeps acting like he’s 大 dad.
新木場 thinks it’s funny, and is happy to both be 大 dads.
- They understand each other on a dad level.
- He teases 大 about if 竹 was this dad-like when they were dating, but 大 is so horrified he can’t say anything.
  - 新木場 never mentions it again.
汐 gets out of jail and turns up on 竹’s doorstep.
- He didn’t really have anywhere to go.
竹 lets him stay, but he insists they can’t tell anyone until after the wedding at the very least.
汐 slowly starts asking 竹 about his relationship with 大 after he finds out.
It starts at a level where 竹 thinks 汐 just wants caught up on what he missed while in prison, but the questions start to get more frequent.
- He slowly starts to realise 汐 is comparing himself to 大.
  - Cute.

汐: Does Takeshiba-san still like Oosaki-san?

竹: Would I be planning his wedding if I did?!

汐: Takeshiba-san’s a good guy so he would.

竹 starts crying because of 汐 calling him a good guy.
汐 thinks he’s crying because he still has feelings for 大 and offers to break 大 and 有 up for him.

竹: Shiodome-kun, do you… like me?

汐: I like you.

竹: No, I mean do you… like me?

汐 genuinely doesn’t know the answer to that.
He goes and sits by himself for a few hours.
- Of course he likes 竹 but…
竹 finally comes to check on him and 汐 asks him it back, and he also doesn’t have an answer.
They both lie awake, 汐 lying on top of him, still thinking about it.
汐 isn’t really sure what liking him schould feel like. He thinks 竹’s understanding of that feeling is probably different from his.
竹 is desperately hoping 汐 will reach a conclusion first because he doesn’t want to think about it too much.
- He’d honestly go with whatever 汐 wants (repeating his mistake of just going along with 大) but 汐 isn’t saying anything.
竹 is trying to help with the wedding while trying to keep 汐 under wraps.
竹 intended to steal some food from the buffet for 汐 (no one would have said anything, they know he’s poor), but 汐 insists on going along as his plus one.

汐: I can sit under the table and eat your hand if you don’t want me drawing attention!!!

竹: I DON’T SEE HOW THAT DRAWS LESS ATTENTION

竹:

竹: also you meant “eat FROM your hand” right? right???

竹 desperately trying to come up with some way he can stop anyone realising it’s 汐, but he’s getting so stressed out about the whole thing.

汐: I could wear someone else’s face :)
- 竹 is going to have a breakdown.
竹 ends up going in ahead and helping with set-up, then waits for everyone to be focused on the couple to try and sneak 汐 in through the back.
新, having no interest in the happy couple, immediately catches them and very loudly asks if that’s 汐 with him.
竹 rapidly tries to hush him, but 新 just gets louder about it.

竹: Please, you’re going to ruin Ariake-san’s moment.

Both 新 and 汐 are fine with that. There is, in fact, nothing 新 wants to do more at this wedding.
竹 rapidly trying to cover that this isn’t 汐 but just staring at him because God what’s going to be believable?
- Settles on claiming this is his nephew.
新 who knows fine well what happened to 竹’s siblings is not going to buy this is one of their kids, miraculously alive.
- He’s had to hear his whole trauma dump every time they had a meeting discussing the investigation.
Also, that’s very obviously 汐’s laugh.
青 has got involved because he’d rather this wedding wasn’t a disaster.
- They all have to commit if they don’t want 有 to kill them.
  - And keep 汐 out of 有’s line of sight.

竹: This is my nephew, Medooshi Ochimi.

青:

青: It’s nice to meet you, Medooshi-kun.

汐: Hi, Aomi-sensei!

竹: YOU’RE NOT MEANT TO KNOW THAT.

新: Are you fucking kidding me?

青: Would you rather introduce Ariake-san to our new guest?

新: Yes, it might liven up this tedious wedding.

竹: I worked really hard planning this :(

He was given the bare minimum tasks he would accept being given.
He got all the flowers (claims that it was with magic)
- They’re crumpled from being in his sleeves. And covered in sweat.
Everyone else is playing along, so 新 leaves it to chain smoke.
新 comes back in to get some fish from the buffet to take home to his roommates and just sees everyone trying to hide 汐 and decides to just continue chain smoking.
汐 sits on 竹’s lap.
- He’s his nephew, right? So it’s fine, right?
- 青 is about to crack.
大 comes over to check on 竹 because something seems to have been going on with him all night.
- He can clearly see someone is hiding behind 竹.
  - He’s going to ignore that. He has to get back to his wife.
  大: Takeshiba-san, please try to relax and enjoy the wedding.
  
  汐 as soon as 大 leaves: He’s right, Takeshiba-san. You should be enjoying yourself. The groom told you to relax. It would be rude not to listen to the groom.
  - Just don’t do anything to upset 有.
汐 dragging 竹 to dance with him.
竹 is exhausted.
- 汐 understands. Weddings are tiring. He’ll be happy to get home and to bed.
  - 竹 remembering he has a full night of 汐 lying on top of him ahead.
汐 was happy to see everyone, but he likes being alone with 竹 best.
汐 pretends to fall asleep on the bus home, and 竹 has to carry him the rest of the way.
- He can’t help thinking of when he did the same thing to 大.
  - Remembers how that night ended and decides he has to be very careful.
The wedding was honestly the most relaxed they’d been about their relationship.
Getting 汐 and 竹 finally going “maybe I do like him.”
He probably doesn’t want to go through a wedding like that ever again but. He thinks he’d be happy being with 汐.
汐 keeps pretending to sleep since he feels 竹 has been sad recently and he caused a lot of trouble at the wedding and he just doesn’t know any way to be less himself. So, he’ll just pretend to sleep so 竹 can have some peace.
He already went through a lot with prison trying to fix him and it just doesn’t seem to have worked and he’s struggling but he wants to make 竹 happy.
竹 eventually tells him he knows he’s awake because he’s had 汐 sleep on him for months - he knows how he sounds when he’s actually asleep.
汐 mumbles an apology.

汐: I’m sorry I can’t be Takeshiba-san’s perfect bride.

Especially if a perfect bride is a bride like 有. He can’t be like that.
If 竹 wanted, he’d try his best though.
竹 doesn’t want him to he a perfect bride (especially after seeing 有), he just wants 汐 to be himself.
- He’ll regret that when he’s being bitten, but not enough to ever take it back.
