A lecturer at the USCR that was leading the research on the Mirror World.
Personality
Section titled “Personality”A cold, serious man and tough lecturer to get along with. He’s focused and morally driven but he tends to really lock in on one thing.
Appearance
Section titled “Appearance”150cm tall and fat. An older guy with some wrinkles and tanned skin. He has a skin graft on the left side of his face and a glass eye on that side, though it’s typically just a brown one to match his real eye. He wears glasses and only shaves his face when he remembers. He has greying ginger hair that parts in the middle. He has large breasts and doesn’t shave beyond his face.
Relationships
Section titled “Relationships”Cathal Meas
Section titled “Cathal Meas”One of Dr Cavanagh’s students on the Mirror World research project and a student in his second year class. Cathal didn’t particularly stand out in the class beyond how much he was lagging behind his peers despite his ambition. Dr Cavanagh was willing to show some consideration for him that he wouldn’t have a less dedicated student.
After Cathal’s disappearance, Cavanagh felt responsible for what had happened as it was related to his project and in his class lab. He has steadily become absorbed in the case, trying to find any possibility that Cathal is still alive, including taking a leave of absense to do so.
To his memory, they first met in Cathal’s second year of university.
Mirror-Tiger
Section titled “Mirror-Tiger”The creature that replaced Cathal, and became Dr Cavanagh’s research subject. Cavanagh immediately identified it as an imposter and assisted in the capture, before taking over the research of the creature. The Mirror-Tiger has continued to antagonise him about the supposed death of Cathal, but will also flirt with him, which Cavanagh ignores to avoid encouraging the behaviour. In private, he has been deeply affected by these interactions.
One of Dr Cavanagh’s students from the same year as Cathal. He is about aware of her as he is any of his students.
Professor Jean Bigwood
Section titled “Professor Jean Bigwood”A colleague at the university. The pair rarely saw eye-to-eye with Prof Bigwood frequently saying Dr Cavanagh was a reckless researcher.
- He had a traumatic surgery experience in his 20s and now has a phobia of surgeries.
